While using the Freepour scale, you may occasionally encounter some warning messages. Don't sweat, these are just gentle reminders and there's more info on each one below.
NEW ITEM FOR THE SCALE
If it's the very first time you have scanned this bottle with this scale, you will be prompted to confirm its name.
- This appears when we have the barcode in our database, but it's just the first time it's been scanned on this scale.
- If correct, tap "Yes"
UNKNOWN ITEM
We haven't seen this barcode before!
To learn more about how to add a new product (or count a product without a barcode, please see this article: Freepour - Unrecognized or Missing Barcodes
DUPLICATE WEIGHT WARNING
Oops, did you have to grab the phone and forget you already weighed this one? Or do you take a daily inventory and this bottle just didn't get used today?
- This appears if the combination of this item and this weight is an exact match of an item already entered within the past 24 hours. (This can occur when counting on the same inventory or even if it's a new inventory and a data sync has happened between counts.)
- If you are confident this is not a duplicate and the data should be added, click YES.
- If you were just moving too fast and now realize you did make a mistake, click NO to have the scale ignore this scan. You can then carry on with the next bottle.
WEIGHT INCONSISTENCY WARNING
Uh oh, do we have the wrong weight stored for a full bottle of this alcohol? Or did you leave the pour spout in the bottle? We're worried that we won't be able to accurately calculate the contents of this bottle.
- If this is a full bottle, click YES to update the recorded weight of a full bottle.
- If this bottle is not full and you are sure it was scanned accurately, click NO to record the weight as is.
- Click Cancel to not save any information and go back to double check everything.
- We recommend you make a note to weigh a full bottle and update the value in the scale next time you have one handy!
SCANNER AUTO-OFF WARNING
We’re all trying to do our part to conserve! The scanner has just gone to sleep and can be woken back up when needed.
- If you get called away, no problem! The scanner will turn off to save power.
- Simply click “OK” when you’re ready to start again.
SCALE AUTO SHUTDOWN WARNING
We want that battery to be useful for you when it's actually inventory time! This warning tells you its trying to save battery power when it's unplugged.
- If the scale is unplugged and has been sitting unused for 30 minutes, this following message will appear and a 30 second count down will occur, accompanied by a repeating series of triple beeps.
- If you don't push any buttons, the scale will turn off.
- Tap Cancel to resume using the scale or select Shut Down to go ahead and initiate the shutdown. The scale will beep , beep, beep, and count down from 30 seconds.
- These settings can be adjusted if you want it to prompt an auto shutdown either quicker or slower than 30 minutes.
CRITICAL BATTERY WARNING
Your battery is too tired to keep going, but fear not!
- You might have noticed that your normally green battery in the upper right corner was recently showing as red. It’s now reached the point where it must be plugged in or it will shut down.
- If you can plug it in, the message will disappear on its own.
- If you are not quick enough, don’t fret. The counts you have taken already will be stored and you can pick up right where you left off once you plug it in.
- Note that if the scale is left plugged in, it will automatically turn off once a full charge is reached.
