ChatGPT
I cannot find Developer mode.
Make sure you are at chatgpt.com, not in the desktop app, and that you have an eligible plan. If you are in a work workspace, ask your ChatGPT administrator whether Developer mode and custom apps are available to you.
The tool scan will not finish.
Check the address carefully: https://mcp.marginedge.com/mcp, and confirm that the OAuth registration method is Dynamic Client Registration (DCR). Complete the MarginEdge sign-in if a browser window opens. If it still fails, contact MarginEdge Support.
My MarginEdge sign-in was rejected.
Your account is probably not linked to an active MarginEdge user. This is intentional. Contact MarginEdge Support, then try the connection again.
It connected, but ChatGPT can only answer general questions, not questions about my restaurants.
You're signed in, but your MarginEdge user doesn't have the role needed to reach your restaurant's data. Everything beyond basic help setting up the connector requires the MarginEdge Admin role. Ask your MarginEdge administrator to update your role, or contact us, then start a fresh conversation in ChatGPT.
ChatGPT says it cannot access MarginEdge.
Start a new chat and make sure you selected + → Developer mode → MarginEdge for that conversation.
I need to change which tools are available.
Open the MarginEdge app's details in ChatGPT's app settings. The owner can refresh the app and enable or disable its tools. In a work workspace, ask the workspace administrator to make the change.
I want to remove access.
Disconnect MarginEdge from Settings → Apps in ChatGPT. You can also revoke access from your MarginEdge account's security settings; that stops the connection regardless of ChatGPT's settings.
Claude
Nothing happened when I clicked Add, or the connector won't connect.
Re-check the URL character by character: https://mcp.marginedge.com/mcp. A stray space at the beginning or end, picked up while copying, is the single most common cause.
It says it can't reach the server.
When you use a custom connector, Claude reaches our server from Anthropic's own cloud — not from your computer. This surprises people, because Claude Desktop runs on your machine. The practical consequence is that your office VPN makes no difference either way: connecting to it won't help, disconnecting won't hurt. Our server is publicly reachable, so this shouldn't be an issue. If it persists, get in touch with us.
My sign-in was rejected.
This is the most likely thing to go wrong, and it's almost always the same cause: the account you signed in with isn't linked to an active MarginEdge user. We block unlinked accounts at login by design. Nothing in Claude's settings will fix it — contact our support team, we'll get your account linked, and then you can click Connect again.
It connected, but Claude can only answer general questions, not questions about my restaurants.

Do I need an API key?
No. Our server doesn't accept one, so there's no key to request and nowhere to put it. Signing in is the authentication.
I signed in but it still shows as disconnected.
Quit Claude Desktop completely — don't just close the window — then reopen it and check Settings → Connectors again.
Claude says it doesn't have access to MarginEdge.
Check that the connector is toggled on for this conversation using the + button. The per-conversation toggle is easy to overlook.
I made a typo in the URL.
Claude doesn't allow editing a connector after it's added. Remove it and add it again — see below.
Claude can't find data I know exists.
Two possibilities. First, confirm you can see that same data when you log in to MarginEdge directly, since the connector can't exceed your own user's permissions. Second, check your role, as described in the entry above.
Claude won't make a change I asked for.
That's expected. Our connector is read-only, so Claude can't create, edit, delete, or submit anything in MarginEdge. Make the change in MarginEdge directly.
Gemini
Antigravity can't reach the server.
Double-check the URL character by character: https://mcp.marginedge.com/mcp. Ensure there are no leading or trailing spaces. Note that Antigravity connects directly over the internet; your local network or VPN will not affect accessibility.

Do I need an API key or Secret?
No. Our remote server uses web authentication. You do not need to enter an API key, Client ID, or Secret in Antigravity settings.
The connector doesn't show up after editing mcp_config.json.
Ensure you edited the correct file path for your Antigravity application (~/.gemini/config/mcp_config.json for Antigravity 2.0) and click Refresh in Settings → Skills & Customizations.
Antigravity won't modify a record when requested.
That is expected behavior. Our MCP server is strictly read-only to protect your data. Perform any record edits directly inside MarginEdge.
