Overview
Starting in November, MarginEdge is upgrading to a new billing system designed to make managing your subscription simpler, clearer, and more transparent.
This upgrade will:
- Streamline how payments are processed
- Improve invoice visibility and detail
- Ensure compliance with U.S. and Canadian tax requirements
Depending on how you pay or where your business is located, there may be a few additional details to know.
ACH Payment Customers: Important Next Step
If you pay for your MarginEdge subscription via ACH transfer, you will need to take the following step to ensure uninterrupted service:
- Contact your bank and ask them to whitelist our payment processor, BlueSnap, Inc. using ACH Company ID 8450479415. The ACH transaction will include the words "MarginEdge".
⚠️If this step isn’t completed, there’s a chance your payment could fail. Multiple failed payments may result in a temporary pause on your account.
What’s Changing
1. More Transparent Invoices
Invoices will now display separate line items for each component of your MarginEdge subscription.
For example:
- The Freepour Scale will appear as its own line, separate from your core subscription
- One-time onboarding or service fees will be listed individually with clear, descriptive names
This ensures you’ll always know exactly what each charge represents.
2. Sales Tax Collection in the U.S.
Beginning with your first invoice after the system upgrade, MarginEdge will start collecting sales tax in certain states.
The initial rollout includes the following states:
AZ, CT, DC, KY, LA, HI, MA, NM, NY, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, UT, WA, WV.
If your business is located in one of these states, you’ll see applicable sales tax automatically added to your invoice.
3. Billing in CAD & Sales Tax (for Canadian Customers)
For customers billed in Canada, your subscription will now be charged in CAD.
Here’s what that means:
- Your existing USD subscription price will be converted using the 12-month average exchange rate of 1 USD = 1.4 CAD
- Applicable sales tax will be added to your invoice
This change ensures compliance with Canadian tax requirements and provides consistent, transparent pricing in your local currency.
4. Invoices Sent to All Billing Contacts
In the new system, invoices will be sent automatically to all users with a billing role on your MarginEdge account — not just the users listed in the “billing notification” field.

Do You Need to Do Anything?
Customers paying via ACH for their MarginEdge subscription will need to contact their bank (see above).
For all other customers, no action is required. Your account and billing details will automatically transition to the new system.
