Below are the instructions to connect your Qu POS account to MarginEdge. You do not need to complete any work in MarginEdge for this process.
- Connecting locations for the first time
- Adding a New Location after First-time Setup
- Frequently Asked Questions
Please note: The setup process on the Qu side typically takes 7 business days for credentials to be provisioned, but it could take longer in some instances. After MarginEdge receives credentials from Qu, it can take up to 3 business days for the integration connection to be completed in MarginEdge.
Connecting locations for the first time
If you’ve already asked Qu to enable the MarginEdge integration in the past, you don’t need to make the request again when connecting a new location. See Adding a New Location after First-time Setup section below.
Step 1: Request integration to be enabled
Contact your Qu representative to request them to enable the MarginEdge integration (ensure you speak with your Qu CSM or project manager. If you don’t know who that is then please reach out to Qu support.)
In your request, provide:
- Your Qu “Brand” name.
- A clearly listed set of locations to be integrated with MarginEdge (preferably with their addresses).
Sample Email Template:
Subject: MarginEdge Integration Request for [Brand name]
We’d like to enable the MarginEdge integration for our Qu POS account and provide MarginEdge with access to our POS data.
Here are the locations that we’d like included in a “Reporting group” under our [Brand name as used in Qu].
- [Location 1 Name] - [Street Address of location]
- [Location 2 Name] - [Street Address of location]
- [Continue list as necessary]
Let us know if you need additional details.
Thank you!
Step 2: Qu generates credentials
You will work with Qu to create a Reporting group that includes the location(s) you specify and Qu will generate credentials tied to that group. It typically takes 7 business days for Qu to complete this process and send the credentials to MarginEdge, but it could take longer.
Note: Your Reporting group is tied to your "Brand” in Qu. In Qu, a ‘Reporting group’ is simply a selection of your locations that will be made available to MarginEdge for this integration. Some brands manage their own Reporting groups and will not need Qu’s assistance for this part.
It does not combine sales from multiple locations into a single view within MarginEdge. It is only used for the initial setup. Each of your locations will still have its own separate data and reports.
Step 3: MarginEdge finishes connection process
Once the credentials are received, MarginEdge will complete the integration on your behalf within 3 business days—no further action is needed from you during this time.
- Once MarginEdge completes the connection, you should start seeing your sales and labor data coming into your locations in MarginEdge.
- If you’re seeing any issues with the sales data in MarginEdge, then please reach out to salesintegrations@marginedge.com so we can fix any issues and coordinate with Qu if needed.
Adding a New Location after First-time Setup
If you have already asked Qu to enable the MarginEdge integration in the past, you can skip some steps!
Is the new location you’re trying to setup part of the existing Reporting group?
- If yes, then please reach out to salesintegrations@marginedge.com to ask them to setup the new location with the credentials provided for your other locations.
- Please let them know which location in MarginEdge you’re looking to setup as well as the name of that location as it appears in Qu.
If your location is not part of the existing Reporting group
- If it should be part of the Reporting group then please reach out to your Qu POC and ask them to add the new location to your existing Reporting group that is used for the integration between MarginEdge and Qu.
- If your brand manages your own reporting group, then add the new location to your existing reporting group.
- If the location should not be part of the existing Reporting group then please treat this as if you’re connecting a new location for the first time and reach out to your Qu POC to have them make a new Reporting group for you (see Connecting locations for the first time section above).
Note: You can work with Qu to decide which locations from your Brand are included in the Reporting group. In Qu, a ‘Reporting group’ is simply a selection of your locations that will be made available to MarginEdge for integration. Some brands manage their own Reporting groups and will not need Qu’s assistance for this part.
It does not combine sales from multiple locations into a single view within MarginEdge. It is only used for the initial setup. Each of your locations will still have its own separate data and reports.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I connect multiple Qu locations to one MarginEdge unit/account?
- No. The MarginEdge/Qu integration only supports one Qu location per MarginEdge unit.
What is a “Reporting group” in Qu?
- A “reporting group” is a subset of your Qu locations which MarginEdge will be able to access for data.
- Some brands manage their own Reporting groups and will not need Qu’s assistance for this part. You can ask Qu for help with making a reporting group.
Does Reporting group mean sales are combined across locations?
- No. Data is made available for each location individually. Data is not rolled up or combined.
How long does the Qu integration process take?
- Typically 7 business days for Qu to provision credentials, plus 3 business days for MarginEdge setup - but could be longer.
Can I add more locations later?
- Yes. Ask Qu to update your reporting group (or update it yourself) and inform MarginEdge of the change
