Once Sales Forecasting is enabled, you can review, edit, and understand your sales projections directly in the app. Here’s how to use the feature to get the most out of your forecasts.

Navigate to Sales Forecasting

Go to Performance > Sales Forecasting

Choose between Week or Period views, depending on your preference
- Use the filter drop down options to change the view to a specific date range, restaurant unit or category.
Reviewing Your Forecast
Each day in the calendar includes:

Sales Forecast: Predicted sales for that day

Actuals: What you actually sold (once available)
-
Variance: How far off the forecast was, in %
What am I looking at?
The sales Forecast model predicted $13,769 in sales. The Actual sales total was $10,814. Sales were 21% lower than forecasted for this holiday.
Click on any day to see more details about the category breakdowns of the forecast.
Editing a Forecast
- Click a day to open the Forecast Panel.
- Click “Edit Forecast”.
- Enter your new number. You can edit total sales (and it will adjust the categories proportionally) or make edits by category type. You can revert back if needed by clicking "Reset to forecast".
- Save your changes.
- Manually edited forecasts are marked with a small person icon.
Import Your Forecasts / Make Bulk Edits
Click the Import button to upload a CSV of future forecasts
You can import forecasts by total only using the provided templates.
Permissions
Only users with MarginEdge Admin, Restaurant Admin or Accountant roles can edit forecasts or import data. Other users can view forecasts but cannot make changes.
