If this is your first time connecting a Focus Cloud location to MarginEdge, contact Focus Cloud Support at fcesupport@shift4.com and request API credentials for your Focus Cloud account, including your company name, restaurant/location names, and a note that you want to establish an API integration between Focus Cloud and MarginEdge.
Focus Cloud will provide an API Access Key and API Secret Key. You will need these credentials when creating the connection in MarginEdge.

If your organization already has another Focus Cloud location connected to MarginEdge, check whether API credentials were previously obtained. In most cases, a single API Access Key and API Secret Key provide access to all locations under the same Focus Cloud account and can be reused when connecting additional stores.
Only contact Focus Cloud Support for new credentials if no credentials have been shared with you previously.
Once you have the credentials, in MarginEdge, navigate to Setup > Point of Sale.
Click "Connect to Point of Sale".
Select "Focus Cloud API" from the dropdown menu. Enter the API Access Key and API Secret Key provided by Focus Cloud, and click Continue.
Click the "Select location(s) to connect" dropdown to view the list of locations your Focus Cloud account has access to. If you enter incorrect credentials, you won’t see any locations after clicking the dropdown.

From the location list, select the Focus Cloud location that corresponds to the current MarginEdge restaurant unit you are configuring.
In most cases, this will be a single location.
Select multiple locations only if you intentionally want POS data from all selected Focus Cloud locations to be combined and imported into the same MarginEdge restaurant unit.
If an expected location does not appear in the list, verify that the credentials have access to that location and contact fcesupport@shift4.com for clarification.
After selecting the location from the dropdown, click Submit to complete the connection.
After clicking Submit, the integration will be active. Sales and Labor data will begin syncing each morning automatically, starting the following day.
To request a historical sales import and get help with sales category mapping, email salesintegrations@marginedge.com and include your MarginEdge location name.
