Connecting [me] to Cake

You will need to complete work in MarginEdge and Cake:

In MarginEdge

  1. Log into MarginEdge (www.marginedge.com). If you have access to multiple locations, check you are in the correct location you want to connect.
  2. Go to Setup > Point of Sale and click “Connect to Point of Sale”. Using the search bar, find your POS and select “Cake”. 
  3. Copy your unique email address shown just below the username -- you will need this when you log in to Cake.
    See the screen shot below - the red circle is where you will look to find the email that ends with @meposlogin. Do not use the email address in the screenshot! 

In Cake

  1. Open a new window/browser and log into your Cake site using your own credentials.
  2. Create an account for MarginEdge using the unique MarginEdge email shown on the screen after you select Cake.

Important:

  • Ensure the account has full access to reports for your restaurant.
  • If you are prompted to set up a password, you have the option of setting your own. If you choose not to, our integrations team will generate one for you.

Back In MarginEdge

  1. Navigate back into Setup > Point of Sale> Cake or go back to the page you left open in MarginEdge.
  2. Put in the email and password you’ve just created in Cake. If you were not prompted to create a password, put a temporary password in the field and our integrations team will generate a password once the account is set up.
  3. Enter your "Store Location ID." You may not know this as it's not an obvious or commonly used ID. If you don't know your Store Location ID, just put your location name in this field and we'll replace it with the ID from Cake.
  4. Save changes by clicking “Save.”
  5. Please email help@marginedge.com to confirm you were able to complete these steps. 

Once set up, the process will be completely automated. Your prior day's sales will be sent to MarginEdge every morning.
