This article explains how to export your Chart of Accounts from Quickbooks Desktop, creating a CSV file on your hard drive that you can then access to share.
1. First. log in to the company file that contains the COA you want to export.
2. Click on "Lists" from the tabs at the top of QBD and from the dropdown menu, choose "Chart of Accounts".
3. Next you will see your full chart of accounts. Look for a button called "Account" in the bottom left and click that. From the drop down, choose "Print List".
4. A pop-out will appear that looks like the screenshot below. Under "Print to" selector, choose "File", and then in the drop down next to it, choose "Comma delimited file". With both settings selected, you can now click the blue "Print" button.
5. A new pop-out will prompt you to create the file and ask where to save it. A good spot is your desktop or the downloads folder, but really anywhere you know you can find it works! Select the location.
6. Finally, name the file however you would like and click "Save".
7. Congrats! Now you have an exported CSV saved in the folder you previously selected, ready for you to attach to an email and send!
