Restricting Recipes to specified Restaurant Units

If you have more than one restaurant with MarginEdge and have opted to share a "concept" between your restaurants, you will have a shared database of Products and Recipes. If you wish to restrict those a recipe so that it is only viewable at certain of your restaurant units, you can follow the instructions below to do so. Troubleshooting help is at the end. 

1. Go to the recipe you wish to restrict

2. Click "Edit Recipe"

3. Below the yield, you'll see a section called "Recipe Settings" and a checkbox marked "Recipe should be restricted to certain Restaurants", to restrict the recipe check that checkbox

4. Next, you'll want to specify which restaurant units can see the recipe, to do so, click "Add Restaurant"

5. Select the restaurant you want to restrict the recipe to (note, you can select multiple restaurants)

Help! But what if it won't let me check the box? 

Want to restrict a recipe but it seems to not give you that option? That is probably because it either uses another recipe in it or it is itself used in another recipe. 

When restricting Prep recipes, we recommend you always start by restricting the Menu recipes FIRST. Work backwards from there, meaning find all menu recipes you want to restrict and then go through and restrict the associated Prep recipes.

Keep in mind that you may ultimately need to make a copy of a Prep recipe if it's used in different recipes, some of which you may not want to restrict.
