Why can’t I find certain products for Recipes/PMIX mapping?

Each Product in MarginEdge is coded to a category. Each category in MarginEdge is set to a “Category Type”: Food, Beer, Wine, Liquor, or Other. Category Types Food, Beer, Wine, Liquor, Non-Alcoholic Beverage, and Retail are Cost of Goods Categories and Other is for Expenses. Accordingly, on the MarginEdge P&L each category set to category type Food, Beer, Wine, Liquor, NA Bev, Retail will show up under its respective category type in the P&L and any category set to category type “Other” will show up under the expenses section.

To be PMIX mapped or used in a recipe, a product must be coded to one of the Cost of Goods categories (Food, Beer, Wine, Liquor, NA Bev, Retail) and cannot be coded to a category set to category type “Other”.

If you have a product that is mapped to an expense category (Category Type “Other”) but would like to use it in a recipe or PMIX map it, you’ll need to either

  1. Change its category to a Cost of Goods Category
  2. Change the categories Category Type to Food, Beer, Wine Liquor, NA Bev, Retail or Other

To change a Product's category, follow the instructions here.

To change a Products category type, go to Accounting > Categories

Triple-click on the Category Type field next to the Category name and select its new category type from the drop-down. (see example below)
